We hope the blog finds you all well this blustery autumn evening.
It feels a little while since we caught up and since last week we have seen the dark nights are drawing in early therefore we are enjoying and making the most of the daylight hours.
This week we will be doing the blog in two parts to keep them brief as Ade and I are catching up with sleep and energy after a rather hectic week.

Its been a pretty busy time where on Thursday last week following a visit from Catherine our Community Nurse, we noted that Phoebe's Hickman Line site had become very infected and inflammed. Catherine quickly arranged for our Consultant at the local hospital here in Stoke to see Phoebe and assess her.
The team were brilliant and we have been extremely well looked after by the Doctors and Nurses on the Cheetham Unit. It was decided that Phoebe required IV antibiotics which would need to be given during the night so the following few nights were spent on the ward.
We were allowed home during the day and tried to keep things as normal as possible, Catherine popped by during the day to administer IV at home. We prepared each evening to go in with a happy energy to help distract Phoebe's thoughts of the treatment and change of environment which can be quite intensive at times.
We actively encourage Phoebe to be happy wherever she is and not to focus on her home or bed and this seems to have paid off as she can pretty much cope being anywhere as long as we are together with her during treatments.
Despite all the recent treatments Phoebe has been incredibly well and continues to thrive with her appetite and general wellbeing. Being at the hospital has meant we have had a few restless nights so keeping this update brief until we catch you again on Sunday for the next installment of Phoebe's Journey.
We ask all of you to keep Oliver in your thoughts and prayers. Oliver received his transplant a week after Phoebe and is currently having a difficult time in Intensive Care Unit. It reminds us how vulnerable our children are having such a low immune system and how easy it can be to catch a cold or infection but we try and do as much as we can to eliminate the possibilities by keeping them in semi-isolation.
Night folks, rest easy....
Lynn, Ade, Phoebe and Spirit Eleanor xxxxx
