Transplant Day +89 - A positive day in our weekly visit to the Clinic

Hi to all you lovely bloggers out there!!

We hope this latest posting finds you all well. It never ceases to amaze us just how many people read the blog, we even have people joining us whom we’ve never met…to actually know there are so many people taking the time to pop by and catch up with Phoebe’s journey is truly humbling. Thanks for all the wonderful support xxx

Where does the time go?? It seems to fly by as we get older and before we know it our weekly visit to Manchester comes around again. Following our unexpected visit to Manchester for IV treatment on Friday, all has been remarkably well here. Phoebe brings such a ray of sunshine to us each day and copes with her daily regime of drugs and feeds with incredible strength. We continue to have regular sickness but this is all relatively normal whilst she still tests positive for the Norovirus. During our clinic appointment today we note that her weight has steadily increased which is fantastic and Rob expressed how pleased he is with her progress to date. Both Rob and Sarah are wonderful with us, Phoebe enjoys her visit apart from when we need to change the dressings..thanks for your wonderful care, support and helpful advice ...Here she is happier to be having a little mooch before we head home.

The weekend was great catching up with the family and Saturday found Mum and I taking an hour out for a brief visit to Hanley! Just to be able to go and take a little time out was wonderful, it makes us realise how much we take for granted especially something as simple as mooching around the shops …and even better to come home and see Phoebe, with her beaming smile, her arms wrapped around me….there are now words to describe how it feels…

After a busy night, we had a lazy Sunday morning with the odd snooze before our trip over to Mum and Dad’s for Sunday lunch. Gary, Ade, Phoebe and I also took the opportunity to call in for a visit with Auntie Winnie too, she looks really well and is managing remarkably, bless her.

Enjoying our Sunday afternoon relaxing, we then planned to head over to Nan and Ed’s for tea until we were scuppered by Ade’s car not being working!!…eventually we made it over there for a lovely visit with the folks…..oh and Phoebe became glued to Dancing on Ice!! Aaah the joys!!

During the week, we try and have a fairly structured routine with Phoebe, getting out for a walk is definitely an important part of this. With mealtimes too as Phoebe doesn’t have the biggest appetite, we are encouraging her with spaghetti in sauce…and have every variety available, she enjoys going to the cupboard and choosing her tin…here she is…Teletubbies please!!

Looking back over the past few months, we can’t actually believe everything Phoebe and all the family has been through. It’s very hard to believe that you will cope when faced with these kinds of experiences in life but for some reason these are our cards and we face each day with renewed optimism for a brighter future together counting our blessings as we go along…

Ok…as its been a busy time here, it’s nice to be able to catch up with a few messages for our friends…

Talking of blessings, you may remember last week we had the girls over for dinner and Phillomena made the best Banoffe Pie in the world ..seriously!!!!… bless her, she had friends over at the weekend and made her speciality for them, aaah, Phillomena knew we raved about it so much she saved Ade and I a piece and very kindly dropped it in for us yesterday….Thank you so much Phillomena, we have savoured it, it was delicious….just watch for the orders flooding in!!!!

Congratulations to my God Daughters Eve and Madeline who sang with the Staffordshire Youth Orchestra during a concert at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Sunday. We are so pleased you enjoyed the experience girls…Well Done!!

Special wishes to our friend Sarah who is celebrating her birthday this week, have a wonderful day hun and I look forward to catching up for a coffee.

Birthday wishes to Seanan who is celebrating his 1st birthday on Thursday, all our love and hugs to you over in the States, enjoy your day sweetheart. Lovely to speak with you Susan…much love xxxx

Special Hi to Shane over in Vietnam…it was great catching up with you.

All this good news!!!....

Congratulations to Sam, Eliot and Ashley who are celebrating the arrival of their beautiful Daughter and Sister to Ashley..Welcome to the World.....Kate Elizabeth Jane, we look forward to meeting you very soon. Xxxx

Just to finish tonight…

Our friend Brian Shenton has very kindly organised a night at the Tollgate on Saturday 21st March, there will be a great band entertaining us and helping to raise funds for Donna Louise Hospice and The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Tickets are £5, it will be nice to see you there for a drink and a chat….give the Tollgate a call on 01782 313029 for more details!! Will update you as soon as I have more info.

So…until Sunday….

For Sam….

Love lifts angels more so than wings. Love lights their way more so than any halo. And love sings from within them far louder than any harp could play.

Rest easy folks
Much love,
Lynn, Ade, Phoebe and Spirit Eleanor xxxx

Good morning!

Aahhhhh! What a lovely blog, with so many things to celebrate!!!! But of course the biggest, and best news is Phoebe's progress - she is doing so well and continues to amaze us with her strength and courage!!! She truly is a little lady to be proud of!!!

We are hoping to join you on the
21st - let's hope the babysitters don't let us down this time!!!!!! We'll have a back up set just in case!!!! LOL!!! It will be great to see you both and have a catch up, at last!!

I'm at home today with Maddie who isn't too well. She was sent home from school yesterday with high temperature - taken her the doc's this morning to find that she has got tonsilitis!! Gives me a chance to catch up with the house work......:(......the Blog.....:):):).....and , most importantly lots of cuddles on the settee!!!!!!! :):):):) It's too easy to forget just how special and important they are!!!

Anyway, hoping you all continue to strive, and we look forward to seeing you soon,

Our thoughts are with you constantly

Much love
