Transplant Day +94 - The Recovery Continues

Good Evening Everyone,

It’s lovely to have you here and thanks for popping by to update on Phoebe’s progress.

Phoebe is doing well and continuing in her incredible recovery, we say that she is well even though she still copes remarkably with the varying amount of sickness and tummy ache, this mainly due to having the Norovirus which we hope will clear soon.

The past few days have been good since our last posting although Ade and I just feel exhausted at the moment. Most of the time we just get on with everything but now and again we are wiped out just want to sleep at every opportunity! So tonight we will keep the blog brief to enable us an early night and I’ve added a few pictures. Here is Daddy and Phoebe feeding the fish.

It’s been nice to get some fresh air this week and I have managed to take Phoebe out for a walk in the nice sunshine. The folks have been over this week helping out thank goodness, not sure what we would do without their help.

Sarah called us from the hospital on Friday to let us know that Phoebe would need another dosage of treatment for the EBV virus showing in her recent blood tests and she may need to have a further couple over the next few weeks. We just needed to wait for a cubicle as Phoebe is still in semi-isolation and has the Norovirus which is extremely infectious.

Ade and I took the opportunity to visit Auntie Winnie and she was so pleased to see Phoebe, later we called to Mum’s and eventually over to Nan and Ed’s. Its great for us to at least leave the house even though it feels as we are taking it with us with the sheer amount of items we need to take!!

We eventually received the call yesterday lunchtime to head over to Manchester, on route Phoebe was extremely sick in the car and again just as she started the treatment, but otherwise she did well and coped with being back on the ward and machines remarkably well.

And so to today, this morning was a fairly early start, having gathered everything together, we headed out to Rudyard Lake for a walk. As we are unable to be in close contact with people, this is perfect for us as we can enjoy the fresh air and Phoebe really benefits from this especially with her appetite. It’s been years since we visited Rudyard and I can thoroughly recommend it, there is a café on the lake and a lovely little train which is a 40 minute round trip. We arrived at the right time as there were just a few people milling about for a walk. It was our first visit out all together and not actually on our regular route to Manchester, we were mindful to take things a little easy and seeing the train parked in the mini station when we arrived was a fantastic surprise. Phoebe had just woken from a sleep when we arrived and as we boarded the train, she looked completely bemused by the whole event! It was nice to take her out and I actually felt overwhelmed to be doing something so normal for the first time in what seems like a long time. Phoebs began to start enjoying this about 5 minutes before we reached the end of the journey...!! Ade and I decided the train trip was enough and we left as the car park the walkers began to arrive and it was becoming quite busy.

Phoebe’s appetite has been much improved today and she has wanted to eat a little more than normal so we have eased off the feeds. We hope to continue on this path but also not under the illusion things can change on a daily basis.

Its been nice to see the folks over the past few days, Mum and Dad have looked after us again with a fabulous Sunday lunch and after popping over to Nan and Ed’s we finish the weekend with a relaxing eve in front of the box.

We look forward to another week of progress…and will update after our visit to the clinic on Tuesday…..so for now folks, many thanks for your continued flow of positive energy, support and prayers…it is so greatly appreciated. Xxxx

For my dear friend Theresa…thinking about you xxx

When we are in touch with the Angels, we walk to a heavenly rhythm that guides our way.
Much love
Lynn, Ade, Phoebe and Spirit Eleanor xxxx

Wow! I finally made it first!
Its fabulous to hear your news and i'm so chuffed that you've managed to get out to Rudyard for a walk. I made it to baby-Tesco on Sunday morning - that was it for me a short walk for a loaf of bread and a pint of milk!!!
Hopefully - if i can get this never-ending dissertation finished, I will see you all later in the week - maybe a nice walk???
Love to you all,
Est
