How is everyone? We hope all is well and you are all enjoying the beginning of the light nights appearing..it makes a great difference don’t you think?
So…what’s been happening in the lives of our lovely bloggers?..it feels like ages since I last updated, do so enjoy writing the blog, will still try and keep updating twice weekly although sometimes it’s a challenge just getting a cuppa some days!!
Since my last posting on the blog from Manchester, Rob discharged us on Wednesday after a thorough round of immune boosting, IV antibiotics and various blood tests. We are still awaiting results for most of these tests and Rob keeps us updated as any developments arise. So far Phoebe has made an incredibly recovery considering she has only had one temperature since her Bone Marrow Transplant. It is fairly common in expecting to see a child re-admitted to the unit after a few days following discharge so looking at Phoebe she has done amazingly well. We remain vigilant in the daily routine of handwashing and keeping the h
As you can imaging it was so fabulous to come home on Wednesday and since arriving back it has been so good to just kick back and appreciate the comforts of home. Phoebe coped so well during her stay in hospital, she was a little unsettled initially but coped incredibly well….of course she’s much happier being at home and sleeping in her own bed!!
Since being at home, Phoebe has been well and continues her daily battle with the Norovirus, tube feeding and her tummy feeling rather delicate but everyday she continues to smile bringing sunshine to each day and as Phoebs is able to converse so well we can anticipate things more easily so on the whole we are on the up and up!!
Now the warmer weather has finally arrived we can spend more time outside, fresh air has a huge effect on Phoebe, she is wide awake and so energised after a good walk…..Well I say a good walk..today after arriving back from our hospital appointment Phoebe came for a short walk with me to post some cards in the post box at the top of the road and bless her….she actually walked to the end of.....the driveway!! before asking for a ‘Mamahug’. Her little face when she was posting the cards…it’s so funny to see the sheer excitement of actually posting the letters….a miracle that we can do something so simple and gain so much pleasure!!
For some reason Phoebe has become a little clingy over the past couple of weeks and she has seemed to be more tired today than usual. Just attending our weekly appointment at the hospital can be quite a tiring day for us all and as it was an early start this morning Phoebe was exhausted by early afternoon..as you can see from the picture..so was Mum!!! Rob called a little later this afternoon and informed us that Phoebe will need to re-start her potassium again has her iron levels are a little low which probably explains the extra tiredness.
The weekend was eventful as Ade had arranged for the boys to head up to the
Mum kindly stayed over Friday night and it was lovely spending time together. Saturday morning came and as we awoke at 6am, Mum Phoebe and I planned for an early trip to Longton before it became busy making the most of the sunny morning. Estelle joined me a little later in the day and again it was great having some quality time catching up. Est stayed over with me on Saturday night and joined us all for lunch at Mum and Dad’s on Sunday and Nan and Ed’s for a little tea early evening. So a special thanks to Mum and Estelle for your love and support over the weekend, couldn’t have done it without you guys. A special thanks to the boys for ensuring Ade had a relaxing time too!!
It was lovely to see Helen here for a quick cuppa on Monday and thanks too for the wonderful easter poster from Eve Bloggeroonie and Madeline Bloggeroonie, Phoebe loves her picture and it looks great on the fridge. Its always good to catch up with Helen, you know the type of friend who as soon as you meet you just start laughing...thank God for you Helen keeping my sanity and sense of humour!!
So…
We look forward to the weekend ahead as we have our regular blogger ‘Parsnip’ and all the family over from the US for a break, it will be great to see them and all the guys for a good catch up.
Lissa, it is soooo good to have you back….we’ve missed you!!!
Just a little note for our dear friend Julie in Carmarthen….we are thinking about you and wish you a speedy recovery.
Thanks to all our friends and family for the constant tremendous support, you are all amazing and we are so blessed to have you in our lives…
For Julie…keep well dear friend..

For now folks…rest easy until our next update.
Much Love

Ahhhhhh Lynn, so good to hear you are all at home! Fingers crossed for those test results:) And that pic of your Mum and Phoebe asleep brought a tear to my eye - what a great photo. Seeing Phoebe's little arms thrown back shows how totally relaxed and at ease she is on your Mum's knee. Helena used to sleep like that too - I went in to check her the other night and she was lying on her back with her arms stretched out to the sides like she was flying. So cute!
Good to hear Ade got away for a break! I'm sure it was super hard for him to leave but I bet he enjoyed himself and had a well deserved rest!
Well we leave tomorrow so not sure when I'll be on here again - I hope I get to see you!!!
Tons of love - keep fighting Phoebe!!
