Transplant Day + 26....A productive day!!

Good Evening Everyone,

Hope everyone is ok out there, after such a warm beautiful day it's nice to be home, warm and relaxed now the rain has begun!!

Its been a great day here in Chester Crescent and Phoebe has been really well and in good humour. This morning started fairly early, Phoebe now gets herself out of bed and quietly sneaks in to wake me up with the sweetest kiss, just like an angel...and then on some mornings Phoebe bellows out to come and collect her...MUMMY...MUMMY...I NEED A CUDDLE...COME AND GET MEEEEEEEEEEE!!...a very loud angel!!

Its been a very productive day today and this started with Phoebe actually wanting to get washed and dressed!! As Phoebe woke around 6am this morning, we decided to start her medicines quite early to avoid giving them late at night after she has settled into a deep sleep. Throughout the day, she has tentatively taken her medication without much fuss, think it depends how she is feeling and this shows in her willingness to listen to our advice when having them.

Throughout the day, Phoebe has busied herself starting with painting this morning and for a few minutes I took the time to clean the downstairs loo, hmm, may have to re-think that one now, Phoebe called out to show me what she had been doing..well lets just say she was wearing most of the paint and sat there happy and content whilst slithering and sliding her hands in paint across the kitchen table...looking very colourful though...pure joy, bless!!! Sticking, drawing and a little TV followed after spending a little time out in the sunshine. One of the positive things of having a stay in hospital is the fact that it can bring some simplicity to our sometimes hectic and busy lives. Not having to think about all the daily tasks around the house, having to think about nothing else but entertaining ourselves and discovering a little of our own creativity.

Late morning, Mrs Salt and Mrs Marshall came to visit from Phoebe's school. The children have made a beautiful welcome card for Phoebe and I will pop a picture of this onto the blog tomorrow morning. As Phoebe will be in semi-isolation for the next six months it will be some time before she joins the nursery and meets all her new class mates. As each day arrives and the register is called, all the children say good morning to Phoebe as her name is called...aaah how sweet is that?...Thank you so very much for making Phoebe feel part of the class even though we have to stay away for a little while longer.

It was nice to see my friend Theresa today as she popped in to say hi before her physio appointment, look forward to catching up again soon xxx

As the weather was unexpectedly warm, it was nice to see Phoebe in the garden and tomorrow we plan to head out again. As she has no hair to keep warm, its important we keep her warm and her head shaded due to the effects of the chemo as it can make her skin extra sensitive. We look forward to heading out again in the hope of further sunshine tomorrow.

Started the blog pretty late tonight, so for now heading off to get some sleep and I'll tell you a little more about my first Zumba fitness class at the Tollgate tomorrow.

For now...rest easy
Much Love
Lynn, Ade, Phoebe and Spirit Eleanor xxxx
