Transplant Day +19...Preparing for Home...

Hi Everyone,

Hope this wet and windy day finds you all well and safe at home!!

Phoebe has been well today and this morning Rob gave us the go ahead to take ward leave for the next few days from tomorrow and to return to the unit on Monday for a full round up of bloods and update.

Its been a great day here and we have busied ourselves painting, sticking, watching Cbeebies, giving Phoebe massages with her creams and generally gathering our things ready for the journey home. Phoebe's appetite has been much better and she continues to deal with the medicines remarkably....sticking to her guns then regarding the nasal tube!! Go girl!!

Laura and I managed to head out today for coffee just after lunch and it was nice to hear how her son Oliver is doing following his transplant using cord blood from a baby in Australia. Oliver has leukemia with a rare componant concerning his chromosomes. He's doing well and we ask you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Having had very little sleep last night due to Phoebe feeling unsettled and scratching her itchy legs, I am goin
g to take the opportunity to head to bed early tonight. So, before I go, thanks to Claire who's son Connor sent in some great pictures, one of which is our chosen art work for today, lovely happy colours, Thanks Connor!!

Talkin
g of art work, here is Phoebe painting the windows with Julie.
Julie is now following the blog and we are really pleased to kee
p in touch with you and want to thank you for your lovely care. Bless you xxxx

Sending all our love and best wishes to Katie who will be having her transplant tomorrow. Katie's sister has been her donor and I'm sure it will feel a special day for them both...

Please keep Katie and the family in your thoughts and prayers too. Look out for them on the next series of Children's Hospital where Katie will be telling her story as she is the new focus for the Bone Marrow Transplant Uni
t. Great to meet you all, wishing you all the best for tomorrow and we look forward to catching up in outpatients clinic xxx

Ok...for now...

Night folks, rest easy
and look forward to updating you from Chester Crescent!!!
Much Love

Lynn, Ade, Phoebe and Spirit Eleanor xxx

yippee!!!! a long weekend at home--how nice. when phoebe is in the hospital, do you stay overnight in her room? i would think your own bed sounds pretty wonderful if that's the case. well, enjoy being home and i'm thrilled phoebe is doing so well and her docs are pleased. i'll keep her in my prayers.
best
