Transplant Day +30 - The Road to Recovery

Hi there Bloggers,

Good Evening and Welcome on this chilly evening. A warm welcome also to all our new bloggers joining us.

We hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the weekend so far.

This morning started fairly early as Phoebe awoke quite upset, which is not like her. As Phoebe was a little sick last night, it may have taken her a little time to settle and we were awake most of the night.

We had planned to leave early this morning and head over to Mum and Dad’s for breakfast as Ade had arranged to have the cavity wall insulated. We thought it best to take Phoebe out of the atmosphere due to dust etc.

The best plans made etc…it must have been 10am before we finally made it into the car, there are so many things to take with us especially now we have Phoebe’s medicine bag too! It was nice to head out and have breakfast together. The morning was leisurely, we spent time trying to encourage Phoebe to eat and drink plenty; some days are easier than others I guess. As we have the supplement drinks, it’s less stressful knowing that at least she will be having some nutrients.

It was lovely to receive a txt from my dear friend Theresa this morning and as she had a little time to herself decided to call over and have a cuppa with us. Theresa is great company and brought me up to date with all the news especially from the Circle Tots group at St. Teresa’s in Trent Vale. We do so miss coming to the group, catching up and watching how the children are developing week by week.

The time seemed to go so quickly and most of it taken up with giving meds to Phoebs, the preparation takes most of the time and it is so handy to have a little help. Phoebe is doing so well with all the meds and it only confirms to us that it has been the right decision for Phoebe to have the NG tube. We are planning to return to Manchester on Monday and may stay the week to concentrate on Phoebe's weight gain.

Ade and I headed to Britannia Stadium for the match Stoke City V Liverpool, we had invited guests along for a late lunch in one of the suites, it was nice to have a little time out, Phoebe really enjoys her time with Nan and Granddad.

Stoke had a really good game today and came out with a 0-0 draw which was fantastic for us, not so for our visitors though! We all really enjoyed the afternoon and it was nice to have a break. As it takes so long to leave the stadium complex I left early to go and collect Phoebe. She has been fantastic this afternoon and has kept her Nana and Granddad very busy by the sounds of it. It was nearing 7.30pm so we headed home. Phoebe had fallen asleep in the car, I gently lifted her out and took her straight to bed, she was so good and never woke, bless her.

Well as the time is getting quite late and as we didn’t get much sleep last night, I will bid you goodnight, until tomorrow dear friends….

This is one of my favourite angel quotes and each time I meet someone new, whether it be a brief passing moment or spending time with them, this thought always passes through my mind.

‘Do not forget to entertain stranger, for by so doing some have
unwittingly entertained angels.’

With love, rest easy everyone….

Good Morning Everyone,
Becky wins Today..Isn't it funny how we are all getting a little comepetive?
It was nice to hear that you got out again, I think that must have done you alot of good, brings a sense of normalcy back in you life.
Have a great Sunday and I was wondering and you can answer this whenever, but what is involved in getting Phoebe's meds ready?
Are the troops bringing Sunday lunch? It's only 8am here and you can see where my mind is at, I'm hoping Phoebe is as hungry today as I already seem to be. Hi to everyone and I will check in tonight.
Love Always
Lissa
