Transplant Day +38 - A contented weekend at home

Hey Bloggers,

Welcome on this relaxed Sunday evening, just a quick posting tonight as its getting late, we hope all is well with your goodselves.

What a wonderful start to the morning, waking to beautiful blue skies and having a lie in…great! Phoebe woke a little later this morning and after a good night’s sleep we all felt well rested.

Phoebe mooched about the house this morning in a wonderful mood, talking and singing it was lovely, we all relaxed together before heading over to Mum and Dad’s for a tasty Sunday lunch. Again, Phoebe’s appetite wasn’t the best but persevered with breakfast and she had some Shreddies and a few teaspoons of porridge. We know that Phoebe’s appetite will take a while to come back and her stomach may still be tender at times so with that in mind we try and relax a little, although any mum would say it’s difficult to relax when your child isn’t eating properly.

It was nice just being at home with Phoebs, she is such good company and really entertaining especially the singing. As Phoebe didn’t have a nap this morning, she fell asleep in the car on the way over to Mum and Dad’s for lunch bless her, she was so tired and woke a little dazed when we arrived. Now that Phoebe’s is on a clean diet, she needs to eat food hot and at the same time as soon as possible so she needed to wake and have something to eat. She thoroughly loves our Sunday lunches but today we had to really encourage her to eat, she had some mashed potato and veggies with gravy. After lunch, Mum gave Phoebe some kiwi and she ate the first piece but started to cough shortly after and unfortunately she was sick but luckily Mum managed to hold the NG tube in place. As we had the backup feeds, this relieved the pressure of Phoebe not eating as her tummy was now empty, we gave a little more feeds.

Arriving at Mum and Dad’s, Phoebe was pleased to see Uncle Gary today and remembered that he had hurt his knee, she kept us all busy after lunch walking about but a while after lunch to sit on Nana’s knee and before we knew it, she had worn herself out and fallen asleep.

The rest of the afternoon remained relaxed and Ade popped over to Tollgate to collect Gwen to bring her over to our house for a sandwich this evening and we also collected Nana Marge at the same time, she was full of beans early eve but was very tired come 7.30, we popped her sleepsuit on and she happily went to bed a very tired girl, she took a few minutes before she eventually closed her eyes. Ade took Nana Marge and Mum home before returning to chill at home with a beer. I have spent a little time tonight, having a look through some cinema review and the girls will be heading up to the flicks for a film or two over the coming months.

So as I said earlier, it’s a fairly short posting tonight before I fall asleep typing. Good night for now dear friends.

For all my girlfriends…as I recall standing on the top of the hill back on our trip in the lakes last year….Thankyou for being with me on this journey, your help and support means so much, you are the riches in my life….

It may also reveal that you are not alone in the world’

Hi Phoebe,

Sounds like you enjoyed being at home with all your toys and family around you. Keep trying to eat as much as you can - mummy always goes on at me to eat more, but Emma always finishes anything I don't!

Lots of love
