Good Evening Bloggers,
Thanks for popping by, hope this update finds you all well and ready for the weekend ahead...
Tonight I write the blog from Manchester as Phoebe hasn't been too well over the last couple of days. Even though we had a relaxing day yesterday she just didn't want to have a birthday and said she would like her Auntie Andrea to have her birthday instead for her....aah how sweet. Thank you to Estelle and Molly who made a lovely birthday cake and Molly decorated it with a super iced Peppa Pig..who else!!
Phoebe received a wonderful array of birthday gifts and cards, you are all too kind, unfortunately, she really didn't feel like opening her special parcels so I helped and we still have a few to open. Thank you all so much for the wonderful cards, gifts and birthday messages we received...xxx There was a theme running through Phoebe's cards and gifts as you can imagine, Peppa Pig galore...and ironically no one brought the same!! Bless you all.
Throughout the day we had quite a few visitors popping in and it was especially great to see Nana Marge as she has had to keep her distance due to Ed being diagnosed with shingles. Hope you are ok Ed and we look forward to coming over for a cuppa soon....xxx
The troops were phenomenal as usual, helping us out and looking after everyone. Late afternoon, we had a visit from Helen, Madeline and Eve..and eventually Phoebe perked up a little and managed some painting with her new pink paint and brushes. By 7pm, Phoebe was exhausted and I was able to get her ready for bed early, being as the last few nights have been....shall we say..busy!
Helen and my girlfriends decided it would be good to have a night out and of course getting together with them is just a pure pleasure...the evening was made extra special as my close friend Susan joined us, Susan and her three gorgeous children are currently visiting her parents from the states and is due to go home on Monday. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner together sampling the delights of
The Blue Tiffin...or as Susan and my mum thought I said....The Blue Chicken!!!! Thanks for such a relaxing night girls...really needed it!!
Hence the reason for not updating the blog last night. Pictures will follow tomorrow as it is quite late as I begin to write this update.
Unfortunately, Phoebe started with a runny nose last night and has been feeling unwell over the last few days mainly because of her bloated tummy. This morning Phoebe awoke with a painful ear and feeling rather unwell, along with the past few nights of intermittent sleep, it seemed to compounded everything and was inevitable that we would be admitted..and during this morning Phoebe spiked a temperature so this confirmed our admission.
Phoebe received a dose of IV antibiotics late afternoon and will have a further dose at 1am this morning. Its so important that Phoebe receives the chemo along with her steroid each week to help keep HLH at bay.
Denise, another of Phoebe's consultants decided that she would need to come to Manchester asap not leaving anything to chance that may hamper receiving the chemo treatment tomorrow. Since arriving temperature has regulated and observations are looking good.
Seems like a good place to end tonights blog... Love to all our younger bloggers out there, its nice that you check in for the updates and if you would like to ask any questions, please feel free to write them in the comments and we will do our best to answer them for you.
Special mention tonight for Denikka, (hope the spelling is right!) who is a student nurse here on the ward, she is leaving us for her next placement and we just wanted to say thank you for all your wonderful attentive care we have received. You have really looked after Phoebe and us. Wishing you all the very best in your career and the future xx
Rest easy dear friends,
Much Love
Lynn, Ade, Phoebe and Spirit Eleanor xxxx
